The Company

High Frequency dance company has been recognized as a leader in the field of dance and technology. The company’s thirty years of multi-disciplinary exploration is a hands-on collaborative approach that is unique to the field, emphasizing the more emotional qualities of dance and using light and media as sculptural tools. High Frequency’s work has been presented in Japan, Australia, Italy, China, Taiwan, Korea, Bulgaria, Colombia, Cyprus, Greece, Poland, Russia, Belarus, the Philippines, Canada and throughout the USA. It has been broadcast nationally on NBC, CBS, and in 10 countries. 

Artistic Director

Marilynn Danitz is founder of High Frequency and President Ex Offico of the American Dance Guild, national organization for the dance professional. She is recipient of the Outstanding Dance Theater Work Of The Year award (Dance Brew), the Choreography of Distinction Award (National Ballet Association), Best Choreography Award Nominee (11th International Ballet Competition, Varna, Bulgaria), the Jacob’s Pillow Creative Artist Residency, the Real Art Ways National Residency, the first Abrons Art Center Field Residency, the Far Space Residency and the Cave Art Space Residency. She has collaborated with such world-renowned artists as, Allen Ginsberg, poet, Laureate; and Jerry Uelsmann, photographer.  

Ms. Danitz, former Associate Professor at the Tainan College of Arts and Technology, has served as advisor on cultural policy to the President of Poland; as curriculum advisor to the Director of Education of the Polish Government; to the directors of the five national conservatories of Poland, and to Tainan College of Arts and Technology, Taiwan; and as juror for the International Festival of Modern Choreography, Belarus. Her biography appears in Marquis’ Who’s Who In America, Who’s Who In The World, Who’s Who In Entertainment, others. 

Managing Director

Kristen Schifferdecker has served as Interim Managing Director of The Equus Projects and as Administrative Director of the Neta Dance Company and Misnomer Dance Theater. She received a B.A. in Dance, a B.A. in Theatre, and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship from the University of Iowa. 

Artistic Staff

Andrew Broaddus received is B.A. in Dance from Oberlin College. He has performed in the New York Fringe Festival, The Yard, and toured with OCircus! in the Northeast.  He presented his own choreography with Megan Sipe at the Tank. Andrew has taught at the Montclair State University Gifted and Talented Youth Program, the Lindgren Youth Camp, Tenafly Middle School, and at Oberlin College. 

Caroline Carbo has received her B.F.A. in Dance Performance, Magna Cum Laude, from Purchase College, SUNY. She was an instructor for the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts Dance Company.

Jhon Christopher has studied at the Royal Swedish Ballet School Stockholm, the Ballet Academy, Gothenburg, and as a scholarship student at the Alvin Ailey  Dance Theater School, New York. He has been seen in Boglobbyn  (SVT), The Ark (Roxy Recordings Music Video), and Streelight Musical (a benefit for US President Obama). 

Bryn Cohn received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts.  She has choreographed for the Next Company at Redcat in Los Angeles.

Chelsey Dunkel is a graduate of Ohio State University and after graduation served there as Resident Advisor of the Visual and Performing Arts Living and Learning Program.  She has danced in Shawn Hove’s Shoved Gently and is a founding member of Aaron Kint’s backspace, Columbus,OH; guest artist of Meg Herbert Dance and present member of Artichoke Dance Company, NYC and has presented her own choreography in Ohio. 

Anna Massey has performed in the National Tanzania Dance Company, East Africa, Fall for Dance, City Center, in False Alarm, L.A. New Wave Festival, Tribecca Underground Festival, and for Highland Soles, York Dance Works and Ariel Grossman. She received a B.S. in Dance Performance Summa Cum Laude from Skidmore College. 

Sandra Passirani is a graduate of the Choreia Le Centre Des Arts Vivants, Paris and as a scholarship student at the Alvin Ailey School, New York. She has performed previously in the dance companies of Brice Mousset, Maguette Camara, and Nzassa.  

Ortrun Stanzel
has performed for the Opening Celebration of the Athletics World Championship Berlin, in the Salzburg Music Festival, Austria, and in the television production Die Promi Aussteiger, Palma, Spain. She has been a teacher for Danceworks in Berlin. Her formal studies have been at the State Arts Academy Karlsruhe , the State Arts Academy Stuttgart, Danceworks Berlin, and Dance Pedagogy at the Deutsches Institut fur Tanz, Germany.
